  • 1 ripe avocado, halved and pitted
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon
  • flaky salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

    Cook bacon in a cold cast iron over medium heat until crisp, about 10 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

    Crumble or chop the cooked bacon.

    Halve the avocado safely: cut around the pit lengthwise with the avocado on a cutting board, not in your hand. Twist the halves apart.

    Remove the pit by scooping it out with a spoon. Do not whack it with a knife.

    Pile crumbled bacon into each avocado half, filling the pit cavity.

    Finish with flaky salt and a crack of pepper. Eat with a spoon.
