Ingredients

1

Scaled to 1 serving (0.125x)

  • 0.5 lb pork shoulder (boston butt)
  • 0.25 tbsp coarse salt
  • 0.13 tbsp black pepper
  • 0.13 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 0.13 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.13 cup bone broth or water

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix salt and spices. Rub all over the pork. Let sit 30 minutes.

  2. 2

Place in slow cooker fat side up. Pour broth around, not over.

  3. 3

Low for 8-10 hours or high for 5-6. It is done when a fork twists freely.

  4. 4

Transfer to a cutting board. Shred with two forks, discarding the bone and any thick gristle.

  5. 5

Skim fat from the cooking liquid. Pour some back over the shredded pork for moisture.
